Results?

NCEA results came out unexpectedly today, they weren't expected until next week.

I find it totally fascinating that with all the complicated result information provided, the 6 pieces of paper of it's printed on, the amount of computer power needed to produce, format and calculate this information, that they still haven't managed to provide a total of the credits achieved. One has to use good old mental arithmetic, or resort to a calculator to see if the bloody child has passed or not.

That's because, in the new New Zealand, it doesn't matter whether you pass.

Ooops, sorry, used the wrong word....needed to see if the bloody child has achieved or not!!

I guess that means if you get less than the 80 credits required you just have "not achieved".

I just love the play on language, it's a bit like the civil union/marriage decivilised/divorce wordplay.

So what did she get?

Child in situ surprsingly 109 credits out of 120 req

Number 1 daughter gutted she missed Cert of Exc by a mere 5 credits, tho has Cert of Merit - now that there are grades of "achievement". Still aiming for Dux tho as 09 challenge

Forgive me for having no idea what that means. So does Child in Situ have to repeat?

No, no, she "achieved". Each level contains a max of 120 credits and they need to get 80 to have "achieved", below 80 means "not achieved". So in reality she has unexpectedly got about a B+!

That's the behaviourally challenged slow child!

Bet you have faith in NCEA now she's managed to pass without probably even opening a text book!!!
